Today is Saturday, November 22, 2025. I am Pejman Mirzaei.
You must have seen the unfortunate images of the recent fire in the Hyrcanian forests. This fire started in the Elit forests in Mazandaran province on November 1, 2025, and has not yet been contained.
The Hyrcanian forests, with an age of 25 to 50 million years, are one of the natural and ancient heritages of Iran, one of the most valuable forests in the world, and a natural museum. In the summer of 2019, they were registered as Iran's second natural heritage on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Having witnessed numerous destruction in recent years, we all know today that environmental destruction in Iran is planned and deliberate.
The mullahs' regime is led by Israel and is its slave. Khomeini was also a puppet of Israel.
The mullahs' regime plays the role of Israel’s enemy at the behest of the Israeli government and to achieve the Israeli government’s political goals, to help the Israeli occupation, and to deceive public opinion.
Since Ahmadinejad's presidency, Israel has gained greater control over the mullahs' regime, and destruction, crimes, and repression have intensified.
The Israeli government commits crimes with the complicity of the mullahs' regime and deceives the Iranian people and public opinion by criticizing the regime. Destruction of the environment and suppression of its activists is one of these crimes.
If we look at the destruction of Lake Urmia, we see that we are faced with a project called "Drying Lake Urmia," and even journalists like Mahshad Karimi and Reyhaneh Yasini, who were following the situation of Lake Urmia, are being murdered by a fabricated accident, which is one of the methods used in "Chain murders." At this moment, when the Hyrcanian forests are burning, Mina Mashhadi Mehdi, for making the documentary "Where the Wind Blows," a film about forced emigration due to climate change, has been in the prisons of the mullahs' regime for months without the mullahs' regime indicating her charges.
The numerous environmental destruction projects under the mullahs' regime show that these destructions are carried out systematically and purposefully in various dimensions and cannot be accidental.
The destruction of the environment caused by human actions or negligence is called ecocide, which is related to the word genocide, and both involve widespread and intentional destruction. Another related term is cultural genocide, which involves the intentional destruction of the culture, identity, and heritage of nations.
In addition to genocide, the Israeli government uses ecocide and cultural genocide to suppress the Palestinians. There are various images of environmental destruction in various ways, such as the destruction of water resources, cutting down trees, and burning forests by the Israeli government in the occupied territories.
Cultural genocide or culturicide in the occupied territories manifests itself in the form of the destruction of cultural and religious sites, the killing of cultural activists, and the destruction of archaeological treasures by the Israeli government.
The similarity of the crimes of the Israeli government and the mullahs' regime actually reflects the true nature of the mullahs' regime.
In recent decades, we have witnessed the intensification of environmental destruction and the repression of environmental activists under the mullahs' regime.
The mullahs' regime has no interest in some of this destruction. What benefit does the regime have in drying up the Zayanderud, Lake Taq Bostan, the Qanat Nabadan in the city of Abarkuh, and hundreds of centuries-old natural and cultural resources?
Ask ourselves what benefit the regime gets from cutting down ancient trees like this 200-year-old tree in Lorestan, or this 700-year-old oak tree in Fars Province, or this decorative tree called the "Tree of wishes" in the Shiraz bazaar, which passersby used only to take pictures of.
How much does the cutting down of old trees in urban environments and streets by the municipality benefit the regime? There are many examples like this. Why don't we ask ourselves the reason for these crimes, with no benefit or with little benefit, and always with damage?
Just look at the news about the destruction of the Hyrcanian forests before this fire.
The cutting down of four thousand trees under the pretext of building a parking lot, the creation of 30 landfill sites in these forests that are registered as World Heritage, and the cutting down of trees by timber smugglers who have no fear of revealing their identities are among the news items about the Hyrcanian forests that were published before this fire.
It is clear that the destruction of the Hyrcanian forests is actually a multifaceted project, and the fire is only one phase of this project.
You see, from the very beginning, there has been no information about the fire in the Hyrcanian forests, and the regime’s officials have systematically downplayed the fire. Mehrdad Khazaei-Pool, the director of natural resources in Mazandaran province, says that the fire involves dry trees and leaves, and does not cause much damage to green trees. Mohammad Jafar Ghaempanah, executive deputy to Masoud Pezeshkian, in response to the fire, describes the Hyrcanian forests as “grasslands” and downplays their importance.
Regarding other crimes committed by the Israeli government with the complicity of the mullahs' regime, such as the Bandar Abbas explosion, where retired Israeli general Amir Avivi implicitly referred to the Israeli government's role in the Bandar Abbas explosion, we saw that the mullahs' regime not only did not publish accurate statistics on the number of victims, but also downplayed this crime and humiliated its victims.
You can clearly see the hostility of the Israeli government towards Iran and the Iranian people in the Bandar Abbas explosion. As I explained earlier in the video about the explosion, the ship carrying sodium perchlorate traveled with a turned-on automatic identification system to Bandar Abbas, and it was easy to target along the way. But the Israeli government, with the complicity of the mullahs' regime, exploded this cargo in Bandar Abbas, and it was used as a tool to destroy Iran’s infrastructure, kill the Iranian people, and feed propaganda. Compare the reaction of the regime’s officials to the Bandar Abbas crime with the fire in the Hyrcanian forests.
The regime's reaction to all these crimes is the same.
The Hyrcanian forests are the same Iranian citizen who is killed in Iran or outside Iran by Israel or with the complicity of the mullahs' regime and says he or she committed suicide, had an accident, was attacked by evildoers, was sick, had a heart attack, etc.
The Hyrcanian forests are the same plane that was hit by a missile, and they say it crashed. The Hyrcanian forests are the same Bandar Abbas pier that was blown up, and it is called an accident.
Mehrdad Khazaei-Pool and some other officials of the mullahs' regime have identified the cause of the fire as human-caused.
If this fire in the Hyrcanian forests is unintentional, the failure to contain it is undoubtedly intentional.
Reports state that the mullahs' regime had dispatched one or two helicopters to these areas for firefighting operations, but in the recorded images, as usual, only environmental activists or public groups can be seen trying to put out the fire with limited resources. There have also been reports of the arrest of Sina Esfandiari, the village head of the village of Elit, after criticizing the lack of government assistance and downplaying the fire by the regime officials.
Some reports have cited the lack of facilities and difficult access to these areas as the reason for the continued fires. But the mullahs' regime had dispatched a plane and two helicopters to extinguish the fire in Turkey in 2021. There are various other videos of fires in other areas in Iran, such as a video of a firefighting operation in Marivan, which shows that the mullahs' regime is not intentionally extinguishing the fire.
You can see this complicity of the mullahs' regime in crimes committed by the Israeli government or at its behest in the coordinated war between the Israeli government and the mullahs' regime. Although the mullahs' regime was aware of the Israeli attack, instead of preparing subways or urban areas as shelters and providing information, it installed the statue of Arash the Archer to feed its propaganda a few days before the Israeli attack.
Regarding the fire in the Hyrcanian forests, they say that human factors were involved, and perhaps in a few days, as usual, they will stage the arrest of a few people and accuse them of being the cause of this fire.
Ignorance and indifference are the main reasons for the continuation of this regime and the cause of these damages.
